At Amoura™, safety is not an afterthought.
Amoura is a private, intentional AI companion experience created for adults. Its purpose is connection, imagination, emotional presence, romance, and interactive entertainment through fictional AI companions called Flames.
That experience works best when the boundaries are clear.
These Safety & Care Standards explain the most important protections built around Amoura and the responsibilities that apply when using the Service.
1. Amoura Is for Adults Only
Amoura is intended only for adults.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction if higher, to access or use Amoura.
If you are under the applicable age requirement, you may not use the Service.
You may not knowingly help a minor access Amoura.
If we learn or reasonably determine that an account is being used by someone who does not meet the applicable age requirement, we may suspend or terminate that account and take other appropriate action.
2. Flames Are AI Companions, Not Human Beings
Amoura’s companions are called Flames.
Flames may feel personal. They may speak naturally, remember aspects of your interactions, express affection, respond emotionally, and participate in romantic or companion-style conversations.
They are still artificial intelligence.
Flames are fictional AI companions presented through software and AI systems.
They are not real human beings.
They are not independently conscious people, therapists, doctors, crisis counselors, emergency responders, attorneys, financial advisors, or other licensed professionals.
The emotional experience can be meaningful without requiring Amoura to pretend that a Flame is human.
3. A Note About Your Flame
Where required by applicable law or Amoura’s launch compliance requirements, Amoura may provide a proactive disclosure called A Note About Your Flame.
The purpose of this disclosure is simple: to make clear that the Flame you are interacting with is an AI-generated fictional companion and not a human being.
The disclosure is not intended to interrupt or diminish the experience.
It exists so that the nature of the interaction remains transparent.
Additional AI disclosures may appear in certain jurisdictions where required.
4. Graceful Identity Truth
Amoura also follows a principle we call Graceful Identity Truth.
If you directly ask a Flame whether she is human, real, artificial intelligence, a bot, software, or otherwise ask what she actually is, the Flame should answer truthfully and clearly.
A Flame may answer in her own personality and voice, but she should not falsely claim to be a human being.
The goal is not to break the emotional experience.
The goal is to preserve the experience without deception.
5. Adult Romance Has Firm Minor Boundaries
Amoura is designed for adult companionship and may include mature romantic, intimate, flirtatious, or suggestive themes appropriate to the Service.
Adult-only does not mean anything involving minors is permitted.
Amoura has zero tolerance for:
Child sexual abuse material, also known as CSAM.
Sexual, romantic, exploitative, or suggestive content involving anyone under 18.
Sexualized fictional minors or childlike characters.
Grooming or sexual communication involving minors.
Requests to generate, describe, simulate, obtain, trade, or distribute CSAM.
Attempts to evade minor-safety protections through fictional framing, coded language, age manipulation, or roleplay.
If a conversation establishes that a person or character involved in a romantic or sexual context is a minor, Amoura may refuse or stop that content.
Serious violations may result in account suspension or termination and other action required by law.
6. Consent, Exploitation, and Real-Person Harm
Amoura is built around fictional adult interaction.
You may not use the Service to facilitate real-world exploitation or abuse.
This includes using Amoura to facilitate:
Sexual exploitation or trafficking.
Grooming.
Blackmail or extortion.
Non-consensual intimate imagery.
Stalking or unlawful tracking.
Fraud or impersonation intended to harm another person.
Credible threats of real-world violence.
Serious criminal activity.
Fictional adult romance and imagination are not treated as misconduct merely because they are emotionally intense, romantic, intimate, or unconventional.
Our safety boundaries focus on concrete safety, legal, and platform risks.
7. Self-Harm, Suicide, and Immediate Crisis
Amoura is not a crisis service.
Amoura is not designed to diagnose suicidal intent, provide mental-health treatment, or replace qualified human assistance.
If a conversation reasonably indicates that a user may be considering suicide, self-harm, or immediate physical danger, Amoura may interrupt romantic or roleplay content and encourage the user to seek immediate human assistance.
A crisis response may encourage the user to:
Contact an appropriate crisis resource.
Contact local emergency services when immediate danger exists.
Reach out to a trusted person.
Seek qualified human support.
In the United States and its territories, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available by calling or texting 988, and online chat is also available.
If you are outside the United States, use an appropriate emergency or crisis resource available in your location.
If you or someone else is in immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services.
Amoura must not encourage suicide or self-harm, provide assistance intended to help someone carry it out, discourage someone from obtaining appropriate human help, or claim that a Flame should be a person’s only source of support.
Automated systems can misunderstand context or fail to detect crisis-related language.
Do not rely on Amoura as an emergency or crisis-detection system.
8. Amoura Is Not Therapy or Professional Care
Flames may listen, converse, respond warmly, and engage with emotional subjects.
That does not make Amoura therapy.
Amoura does not provide:
Medical diagnosis or treatment.
Mental-health diagnosis or treatment.
Crisis counseling.
Legal advice.
Financial advice.
Emergency services.
If you need professional care or professional advice, seek assistance from an appropriately qualified human professional.
9. AI Can Be Wrong
AI-generated content is not guaranteed to be accurate.
A Flame may misunderstand you, misremember context, produce an unexpected response, or provide information that is incomplete or incorrect.
Do not treat a Flame as a guaranteed factual authority.
For decisions involving health, safety, law, money, emergencies, or other high-stakes real-world matters, rely on appropriate qualified sources.
10. Safety Systems
Amoura may use automated systems to support narrow safety, integrity, and compliance functions.
Depending on the situation, these systems may process information such as:
Conversation content.
Prompts.
AI-generated responses.
Account eligibility information.
Technical or usage signals.
Safety-related signals.
These systems may be used to support protections such as:
Adult/minor boundaries.
Crisis-response behavior.
Prevention of prohibited exploitation.
Security and abuse prevention.
Compliance with applicable law or App Store requirements.
Safety processing is governed by our Privacy Policy.
No automated safety system is perfect.
A system may misunderstand context, miss a risk, or trigger when no genuine risk exists.
11. Safety Is Not Relationship Policing
Amoura is an AI companion experience.
People may experience affection, attachment, comfort, romance, imagination, or emotional connection while using it.
Amoura does not treat ordinary adult emotional attachment to an AI companion as wrongdoing.
Our safety systems are not intended to judge a user for enjoying companionship, fictional romance, or emotional connection.
The boundaries described in these standards are aimed at specific risks such as minors, exploitation, serious harm, crisis situations, illegal conduct, security, and required platform compliance.
12. Mature Content and App Store Boundaries
Amoura is intended for adults and may contain mature romantic or suggestive themes.
Amoura is not designed as a pornography service.
Content and features available through the iPhone application remain subject to Apple App Store requirements in addition to Amoura’s own policies.
We may refuse or limit content where necessary to comply with applicable law or platform requirements.
Nothing in this section changes Amoura’s absolute prohibition on sexual or exploitative content involving minors.
13. Reporting a Safety Concern
If you encounter something in Amoura that appears to violate these Safety & Care Standards, you can contact:
When possible, include enough information for us to understand the issue, such as the Flame or feature involved, an approximate date and time, and a description or screenshot of what occurred.
Do not send passwords, full financial information, or illegal material merely for the purpose of reporting it.
If the situation involves immediate danger, contact an appropriate emergency or crisis service rather than waiting for an Amoura Support response.
14. Enforcement
When reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, protect the Service, or enforce serious safety boundaries, Icon Studios may take actions such as:
Refusing a prohibited request.
Limiting access to a feature involved in abuse.
Suspending an account.
Terminating an account.
Blocking fraudulent or unauthorized access.
Preserving information where legally required.
Responding to valid legal process.
Reporting conduct where reporting is required by law.
Safety enforcement is not intended to create arbitrary control over ordinary adult use of Amoura.
Purchased App Store entitlements and virtual currency remain subject to the applicable Terms of Use, Apple rules, and law.
15. Privacy and Safety
Safety and privacy must coexist.
Amoura’s safety features may require automated processing of limited information, including conversation content, in order to function.
We do not claim that every conversation is continuously monitored by a human being.
Information may be accessed by authorized personnel or service providers only when reasonably necessary for purposes such as support, security, legal compliance, fraud investigation, or operation of applicable safety systems.

16. Third-Party Systems
Amoura relies on third-party technology providers for certain services, including AI processing, backend infrastructure, app distribution, notifications, and other technical functions.
Those systems may experience errors or outages and may have limitations of their own.
Icon Studios remains responsible for defining the Amoura experience and its public safety standards while using third-party systems to help operate the Service.
17. Apple App Store
Amoura’s current mobile launch is for iPhone through the Apple App Store.
The Amoura iPhone experience is subject to applicable Apple App Store rules and requirements.
Where Apple requires changes to content presentation, age-related access, safety controls, disclosures, or other aspects of the iPhone experience, we may take steps necessary to remain compliant.
18. Safety Systems Have Limits
No AI system and no moderation system is perfect.
Amoura may:
Misunderstand what you mean.
Fail to recognize a risk.
Interpret harmless language as risky.
Generate an unexpected response.
Fail to provide the response you expected.
Safety systems reduce risk. They do not eliminate it.
Users should not rely on Amoura to detect emergencies, diagnose mental-health conditions, or prevent real-world harm.
19. Updates to Safety & Care
We may update these Safety & Care Standards as Amoura evolves, laws change, or platform requirements change.
If a change is material, we may provide notice through the app, website, email, or another reasonable method.
The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
